Rent or own ? Trends of the shared economy in Slovakia

At the beginning of the event Lukáš Dzurík and Oľga Némethová have presented the SharEEN project in order to spread awareness about the project and benefits which could bring.

The event was divided into 3 major parts. In the very first one Radoslav Mizera from the platform Solved has presented their shared economy idea and their platform as well. Vladimir Beroun as a representative of Airbnb has introduced new trends of Airbnb in terms of the shared economy.  After two very interesting presentations participants had time for refreshments. The second part of the event has begun with success story of the company from Slovakia under the name Žltý Melón. Michal Milko from the Žltý Melón has described their business story and the way how the shared economy company could run the business in the financial area. On the event also the economic approach presented by Robert Chovanculiak took place in order to bring more points of views. At the end of the second part of the event Michal Stano had a few words on the shared economy problematic.

 

In the third part of the event audience have had chance for asking questions in the panel discussion. Speakers have answered all question asked by participants. After a few minutes we have had a fruitful discussion.

 

In conclusion the “Rent or own” event has created a wonderful atmosphere full of new ideas, thoughts and possibilities. Moreover the event has connected all relevant stakeholders of the shared economy ecosystem of Slovakia in order to boost and spread knowledge of the shared economy in Slovakia.

SharEEN is an European pilot project on “Opportunities for European Entrepreneurs in the Sharing Economy”, co-funded by the European Commission under the Call: 251-G-GRO-PPA-16-9953. Grant agreement SI2.763745. The objective of SharEEN is to identify and link-up with collaborative economy platforms, exchange experience with all relevant stakeholders and help European SMEs, social enterprises and other relevant actors to exploit the opportunities offered by the sharing economy.  In particular, the project aims at building knowledge and capacity among Enterprise Europe Network partners’ staff and other stakeholders on sharing economy, and help them define and deploy supporting services for their SMEs.

 

SharEEN map of regional sharing economy initiatives

The map is based on the results of the surveying activity carried out by the SharEEN project in 2018. It includes a brief geo-referenced description of a set of sharing economy initiatives, platforms and companies, operating in the eight European regions covered by the project.
